Basic Information
The World: Alternative Universe (commonly referred to as "TWAU") is the Stand of Alternate Diego Brando, a secondary antagonist of Steel Ball Run, Part 7 of JJBA. Similar to its original counterpart, it possesses incredible strength, precision, speed, and durability. It also has the ability to stop time. However, The World: Alternate Universe is much quicker and has better zoning tools. It also sports great combo potential, making it deadly stand when used correctly.
How To Obtain
The World: Alternative Universe is obtained by using an Arrow on Standless with a 4% chance of obtaining, and its shiny is a 6.6% chance from using a Shiny Arrow. Another way to obtain The World: Alternative Universe is by Trading.
Evolutions
- The World: Alternative Universe + Shiny Arrow = Neo The World: Alternative Universe (6.6% chance). Has a high chance of failing. There are no differences other than its appearance and rarity.
Appearance
The World: (Alternative Universe) is a humanoid Stand with a build similar to Diego's and design similar to its alternate counterpart. The back of its hands bears the shape of a clock with similar emblems on both its shoulders and hips. Its chin and belt region are decorated with hearts, while its knees are capped with D-shaped pads.
On its back are twin diving cylinders, connected via short twin ridged cables to the rear of its mask; perhaps secured by thick, ridged, or puffed straps running from the rear of its waist over both its shoulders to its front. On the other hand, its shiny, Neo The World: Alternative Universe is also similar to The World (Alternate Universe)'s model, just being multiple shades of light blue rather than yellow.

The World: Alternate Universe doesn't have much combos, but its combo potential is good and does great damage. Here are some combos below ranked from easy to hard difficulty.

Pros:
- Good damage output.
- Good for zoning with the 2 projectiles.
- Good durability.
- Good block (blocks 75%).
- Knives deal 25 damage each, adding up to 75.
- Low cooldowns.
- Great combo potential.
- Ability to use Timestop.
Cons:
- Can easily be rushed by faster and stronger stands/specs such as Sonic/Sonic.exe and The World Over Heaven/The World Over Heaven OVA.
- Lacks mobility.
- Easily countered by Time Stop.
- Time Stop can be canceled by Gold Experience Requiem's Return to Zero.
Battle Strategies
Projectiles - The World: Alternate Universe is blessed with 2 projectiles with low cooldowns, making it one of the best zoners. You can easily chip off damage and lure enemies in to follow up with combos. As long as you can aim, you'll have a pretty good advantage.
Combos - Though The World: Alternate Universe may not have a teleport move despite being able to stop time, but one move completely makes an easy combo starter: Dazing Kick (H). This move completely stunlocks and ragdolls the target, leaving them completely vulnerable to any move. You can easily take a chunk of health from your opponents if you use it correctly.
Durability - The World: Alternate Universe has great durability, sporting 200 HP and a 75% block reduction. It is a pretty tanky stand and can take multiple hits before facing certain death. Make sure to block to reduce most damage done to ensure longer survival. Don't spam block too much or you'll be punished.

- Its shiny variant, Neo The World: Alternate Universe, is featured in Eyes of Heaven and Heritage for the Future as a skin.
- Despite technically being a seperate stand and having a different user from The World, it shares some voicelines.
- The World: Alternate Universe is a pretty good in stand in PvP, yet it is overshadowed due to the balancing issues of Stands Awakening.
- Knives used to only deal 12.5 damage per knife.
- Lots of players confuse this stand with its alternate counterpart The World due to their similiarties. However, it's really easy to tell because of the different color schemes.
- Most prefer The World over this because of its many variants and better damage output from Over Heaven.
- Unlike in A Bizarre Day, TW:AU is amazing in PvP, but in Stands Awakening, it seems to be overshadowed.
